The season will officially begin on October 3, 2026, and will run through the winter, wrapping up with our Day of Champions on April 3 and 4, 2027. As in previous years, programming across all divisions is designed to provide a consistent and enjoyable experience for players and families.
For players in the U9 to U15 divisions, games are typically scheduled on Saturdays and Sundays, with practices also taking place on weekends. Our U5 and U7 divisions will follow a similar weekend format, with both games and activities occurring on Saturdays and Sundays. The U21 division will continue to operate on a weekday schedule, with programming generally taking place on Wednesdays and Fridays.
There is an important update for the U9 division this season. Teams will begin the year playing half-ice games, which supports skill development and increased puck touches, through to December 26, 2026. Following this date, the division will transition to full-ice play for the remainder of the season.
Player evaluations, or grading sessions, will be held on the weekend of September 19 and 20, 2026. These sessions are an important part of team formation and help ensure balanced and competitive play throughout the season.
Teams from U9 through U21 will once again compete within the Dufferin Wellington Local League, where our association has participated for several years. This league includes neighbouring associations such as Centre Wellington, Grand Valley, Erin/Hillsburgh, and Orangeville, providing a strong and familiar level of competition.
