Orangeville AA/A Fall Tournament

All games are played under the Hockey Canada and Ontario Minor Hockey Association Rules.

A copy of your updated roster and a travel permit must be provided if not done ahead of time.

Important Tournament Notes:

-          All teams should have 2 sets of jerseys.  Home team is white, away is dark.

-          We will be using I-pad game sheets for this tournament. Manager needs to fill out names and numbers of players before each game and coaches need to have signed prior to game.

-          Dressing rooms will be available 30 minutes before your scheduled game, and must be vacated 20 minutes after each game.

-          Each team will be given a “player of the game” puck prior to each game for a coach to hand out to someone on their team in the dressing room after each game.

-          “shut-out” pucks will be given to the goalie(s) that get a shut out for each game.

-          Game time length will be 10-10-12 for all age groups and divisions.  Including semi-final games and finals.

-          Teams will be given a 3 minute warm up period prior to the start of each game.  At 2 minute the whistle will go and pucks need to be gathered and coaches talk to their players.  No hand-shakes amongst teams during the tournament. If we are behind schedule it will be referees discretion on the warm up time prior to the game.

-          When a 5 goal differential is met during game play the clock will run during the 3rd period unless the score is brought back within 3 goals. Clock will stop when a penalty is issued.

-          No time outs during round robin play. Semi-finals and Finals each team will be given 1-30 second time out.

-          Affiliated or AP players must be on the current approved rosters submitted to the tournament to be able to play.

-          A game forfeit will result in a 5-0 Win for the opposing team.

-          Any player receiving a gross misconduct or major fighting penalty will result in the player being disqualified from further play in the tournament.

-          Coaches and managers are responsible for their teams conduct and behavior while at the rink.

-          2 points will be awarded for a win, 1 point for a tie, 0 for a loss.

Ties in the Standings:

Ties in round robin play will be broken down in the following order:

1.       Team with the most total wins

2.       Winner of the head to head matchup in round robin (If applicable)

3.       Total Goals for divided by the sum of Total Goals For + Total Goals Against

Ex. Team 1 scores 10 goals and allows 14. 10/24=.417.  Highest percent wins.

4.       Most goals scored

5.       Fewest goals against

Semi- Final and Final Game:

-          10-10-12 game length with 1-30 second time out per team

-          If the game is tied after three periods a 5 minute run time period of 3 on 3 will occur.

-          If a penalty is taken the clock will stop.  An additional player from the other team can join the ice and play 4 on 3 till the penalty expires.  Once a stoppage in play happens after the penalty is over, we will resort back to 3 on 3 play.

-          Shift on the fly rule.

-          If the game remains tied after the 5 minute 3 on 3 it will proceed to a shootout.

Referees will ask Coaches to select 3 players to shoot.

o   One shooter will proceed at a time, best of three is the winner.

o   If after 3 shooters the game is still tied then it will be a sudden death 1 vs 1 shooter.

o   No player can repeat as a shooter till the entire team is used.

Our schedule is very tight over the 3 days. After the final game, we will award the winning team their championship medals, parents or a team rep can take a picture from the bench.

No parents or siblings on the ice at any time.

Final Note: Have fun, enjoy the experience, and remember Refs and Officials are human too!!
